On Monday 9th February 2026 QPWS and the RFS began a 3-day hazard reduction burn of Ships Stern, these are some images taken by locals

Rain came through at 9pm on Tuesday 10th
On Monday 23rd February the large Tallow behind the Barracks came down, it's hanging over Caves Track.
If it had fallen the other way we'd have lost the Barracks!
