Ranger in Change Wil Buch and LNHA President Barry Davies opening a recent Accreditation Workshop
Once a year QPWS together with Lamington Natural History Association (LNHA) and Green Mountains Natural History Association (GMNHA) conduct an Accreditation Workshop for those interested in volunteering in the Visitors Information Centres at Binna Burra and Green Mountain (O'Reilly's)
After attending the Accreditation Workshop volunteers then buddy up with an existing volunteer for 3 days 'on the job' training.
Aim of accreditation workshop:
- Provide volunteers with skills to meet QPWS, LNHA & GMNHA standards.
- Provide volunteers support and guidance in their role within the Information Centre.
- Provide the best possible service to the public.
- Give official recognition to volunteers for service and achievement.
- To promote understanding and liaison between LNHA & GMNHA members and QPWS.
- Help volunteers learn more about nature conservation, national parks and their roles in the Lamington area
